Meadowbrook Behavioral Health Center is a skilled nursing facility offering behavioral clinical treatment for adults in a locked setting who are recovering from psychological, emotional, and behavioral issues and who have plans to return to community placement settings. Our 77-bed facility (licensed by the Department of Public Health and certified by the Department of Mental Health) is located in the lovely Mar Vista neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. We are currently looking for an experienced Program Director, who is familiar with the State of California Title XXII Special Treatment Program regulations, and who is approved by the Department of Mental Health as a Program/Clinical Director, to ensure that our high standards of adult, behavioral, patient care are met at all times. You will plan, develop, coordinate, and supervise the Special Treatment Program (STP) and other therapeutic activity programs which meet the needs and interests of each resident in the facility in accordance with regulatory requirements under State and Federal Law. Job Details include but are not limited to: * Organizes and supervises the provision of activity groups and special rehabilitative services of the STP program, including assessments, certification, treatment planning, and direct treatment services. * Facilitates Interdisciplinary Behavioral Team Meetings. * Monitors the quality of written documentation in the medical record of resident's condition, care provided and resident's response to care. * Supervises and directs subordinate employees in their work, in the interest of the employer, using independent judgment and discretion, regarding duties. Initiates and executes constructive discipline and performance evaluations in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures. * Recruits, interviews, hires, and supervises an Assistant Program Director, Primary Counselors, Mental Health Counselors, and Activities and Social Services staff. * Coordinates the STP program services and other treatment services and schedules with other departments in the facility. * Reviews and participates in appropriateness of referrals to the facility, including conducting on-site interviews as necessary. * Participates in PRO-ACT principles when necessary, i.e. verbal (de-escalation, active listening, etc.); physical escort; physical standing restraint; physical wall restraint; physical prone restraint. . * Participates in the facility Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement process. Serves on committees and develops/implements action plans for improvement. * Assists the Director of Staff Development in ensuring that orientation, annual education, in-service training, and continuing education for program staff members will meet regulatory compliance as well as lead to program and staff growth.
