Director-Program Behavioral (Full Time)
The Program Director plans, develops, coordinates, and supervises the Special Treatment Program and other therapeutic activity programs which meet the needs and interests of each resident in the facility in accordance with regulatory requirements under state and federal law and company policies and procedures.
Organizes and supervises the provision of activity groups and special rehabilitative services of the Special Treatment Program, including assessment, certification, treatment planning, and direct treatment services.
Acts as head of behavioral service, coordinating the Special Treatment Program and other services within the overall treatment schedule with other departments in the facility.
Ensures quality and compliance of direct care services and clinical documentation via routine and random monitoring/audits, ongoing staff education, and consultation with the interdisciplinary professional staff.
Recruits, trains and supervises Primary Counselors, Mental Health Counselors, and other Special Treatment Program staff.
Provides direct individual or group service, as needed, in order to meet residents' needs and ensure effective program supervision.
Monitors resident participation and progress in the program on a regular basis to identify trends, ensure timely intervention to changes in condition or baseline behavior, or determine readiness to transition to a lower level of care.
Facilitates routine and ad hoc Interdisciplinary Team Meetings.
Works closely with external partners, such as conservators, case managers, family members, patients' rights staff, regulatory agencies, and county contract personnel.
Coordinates community contacts for Special Treatment Program services brought into the facility.
-- Art, Dance, Music, Occupational, or Recreation Therapist;
One year behavioral or activity program supervision with employee management experience preferred.
Ability to lead a clinical management team, coordinate care with external consultants/agencies and monitor resident treatment and care.
Understanding of psychiatric illness and its treatment, including the ability to assess and implement treatment plans for seriously mentally ill adults.
Ability to interact, communicate and respect residents who are seriously and persistently mentally ill.
Ability to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel, develop/maintain good personnel relations and employee morale.
Ability to complete Professional Assault Response Training (Pro-ACT) and to demonstrate its principles on a day-to-day basis.
Sufficient computer skills required to perform duties.
